This upcoming tour will be the first time these cities will experience the full orchestral performance. For the new dates, Sigur Rós will once again enlist the Wordless Music Orchestra, the exception being Detroit, where they will be joined by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Robert Ames will also return as the conductor for this series.

Sounds from a Safe Harbour Festival (SFSH), renowned for its eclectic and ground-breaking programming, announce their last round of ticketed shows to their line-up of artists for the 2023 edition.

“8” follows Katya Gimro and Alexey Krupnik’s video for “Andrá” and the video for “Blóðberg” - a sepia-toned birds eye view of desecrated and barren land in reflection of socio-political and environmental anxieties directed by Johan Renck, the director whose past directorial credits include HBO’s Chernobyl and videos for Madonna and New Order,

I like my orchestral music organised around Northern talent. An evening of two halves, this BBC Proms event saw Nottingham (which is geographically more North than South, so let’s forget for a moment that it’s in the midlands) was repped by four-piece band Divorce. Then, Rotherham-born Self-Esteem - or Rebecca Lucy Taylor, a seedling national treasure – performed an hour-long set “with some surprises”, primarily performing her own work with new arrangements by Colin Elliot.

Sigur Rós surprised fans with the confirmation that they will tomorrow release their first new studio album in ten years. Titled ÁTTA, the ten-track album is their most intimate and emotionally direct record to date, A first song lifted from the album, “Blóðberg,” was released on Monday and is available to stream and download now.

The 2022 BBC Proms celebrates a homecoming of large-scale orchestral repertoire to the Royal Albert Hall. This year's festival will feature a programme of a scale not heard at the Proms since 2019: the symphonic music of our past responding vividly to the moment, from Verdi's Requiem on the First Night of the Proms, to Mahler's Second Symphony with the London Symphony Orchestra and Sir Simon Rattle, to Beethoven's Ninth Symphony performed by the Chineke! 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of Manchester Camerata, an innovative orchestra which has continued to push boundaries and challenge traditions throughout its history. The Orchestra today reveals some of its plans for the anniversary year which sees them perform all across the UK with artists ranging from Jess Gillam and Jean-Efflam Bavouzet to DJ Afrodeutsche and Joy Division's Peter Hook.

The Southbank Centre is reopening the Purcell Room at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in September after 18 months with a major new artistic strand, Purcell Sessions, as the venue gets set to transform into London's number one destination for contemporary culture.

On Saturday 10th July, Chineke! Orchestra presents its second Royal Festival Hall concert as part of Southbank Centre's Summer Reunion series. Conducted by Matthew Kofi Waldren, it features two symphonies by African-American composers and the debut of an exciting emerging pianist on the classical music scene.

The Southbank Centre today announces new events for Inside Out, an online season of music and literature extended until 6 May. The new events include Bell Orchestre (13 Mar), authors Kazuo and Naomi Ishiguro (5 Apr), Olivia Laing (30 Apr) and Jhumpa Lahiri (6 May). 

Audiences can safely enjoy live music at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall in 2021 with 40 new concerts announced today. Five of these will be available for audiences to enjoy in the comfort of their own home through Royal Liverpool Philharmonic's On Demand offering.

"Jazz Masters with John Eaton" returns for The Alden in McLean's 2016-2017 Season at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 22 with "Frank Loesser: A Most Remarkable Fellow." Tickets are $12 for the general public, $5 for McLean tax district residents. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

Puppet State Theatre of Scotland returns to The Alden in McLean for the first time since 2011 for a single performance of its award-winning show, "The Man Who Planted Trees." The show will be presented at 2 p.m. on Today, Oct. 15. Tickets are $15, $10 for McLean tax district residents. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue, inside the McLean Community Center.
