TCM Hits The Road, Heads to Wolf Trap For Film Score Performance by NSO

The Peabody Award-winning Turner Classic Movies (TCM) is taking its act on the road this summer for special events with three of the country's top orchestras, including The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) at the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts in Vienna, VA. The July 24th concert, hosted by Robert Osborne of TCM, will synchronize The Wizard of Oz in its entirety on large in-house and lawn screens with a live score performance from the NSO.

· The Wizard of Oz: The National Symphony Orchestra at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts (Vienna, Va.) - Friday, July 24, at 8:30 p.m.

Back by popular demand, Wolf Trap's Filene Center hosts The Wizard of Oz, featuring a full screening on large screens both in-house and on the lawn, accompanied by the NSO's performing the Oscar®-winning score by Harold Arlen, E.Y. Harburg and Herbert Stothart. Released in 1939, The Wizard of Oz was way ahead of its time as one of the first Technicolor films. Star Judy Garland makes history with her role as Dorothy and the epic line, "there's no place like home." Join Dorothy, Toto, and the NSO@Wolf Trap Festival Conductor Emil de Cou as they take you on an auditory and visual journey through the Land of Oz.
