The Alden in McLean will present Puppet State Theatre Company of Scotland's acclaimed production of The Man Who Planted Trees for one performance on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15, $10 for McLean tax district residents. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.Audience members will hear the wind, feel the rain, smell the lavender and laugh with the character "Dog" in this multi-sensory theatrical delight. Based on Jean Giono's classic novel, this play blends comedy and puppetry to tell the inspiring, ecologically oriented story of a brave man who saw a need and decided "to put things right." In spite of wars and hardship, a French shepherd sets out with his dog to plant a forest and transform a barren wasteland. This uplifting and unforgettable story shows us the difference one man and his dog can make to the world.Back by popular demand for a fourth North America tour, this captivating show is the winner of the Eco Trust's 2007 Eco Prize for Creativity.
